CEO Blog - 9.1.26

Happy Friday, all, and a Happy New Year to everyone in the wider New Bridge community.

Welcome back to the spring term!

I know it's not easy to get back to it, especially with the cold weather, but it has been great to welcome students and staff back this week.

I hope you all had time to rest over the holidays and spent some quality time with your loved ones.

Thank you to families, staff and students at Heywood Academy, for your understanding this week when the school needed to remain closed on Monday and Tuesday due to an issue with the hot water supply. Issues like this are common across schools in the UK when the weather is bad, but this doesn't make it any less of an inconvenience. Your patience and support is greatly appreciated.

For my first blog of the term, I'd like to highlight our new Executive Advisor for Safeguarding and Behaviour, Kate Cash, previously of Samuel Laycock, and to say a little about her role.

As she begins this role, Kate is looking forward to getting to know all of our Designated Safeguarding Leads across the MAT and to learning about the excellent safeguarding work already taking place in our schools.

Building positive working relationships with all our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL's) is a key priority for Kate, and she is keen to understand how she can best support our DSL's in their vital roles.

Please join me in wishing Kate well as she starts her new role. It's great to see how we can recruit from within the MAT, supporting the growth of our organisation at the same time as nurturing the talent and enthusiasm we have in abundance.

That's it for this week. Once again, can I thank you all for your support, energy and enthusiasm as we get Spring 1 up and running.

It's going to be a good year for New Bridge.

Have a great weekend
Clare
