Happy Friday, everyone
This week, I want to touch on the SEND White Paper, which was released earlier this week. You may be aware that a number of 'snap shot' announcements on potential national changes to SEND legislation this year were mentioned.
New Bridge Group appreciates that the content of news reports ahead of the publication may have caused families anxiety. At New Bridge Group we remain focused on our commitments to putting our children and young people first.
We have been working with the National SEND Reference Group and other members of the Greater Manchester SEND Board to ensure that the voices of the specialist sector voices and experts are part of the debate.
The White Paper announcement is not the end of the process. It is the start of the process as Government has to follow a period of consultation on their proposals. Rest assured, at New Bridge, we have already been looking at any implications for our schools and settings, and contributing to national conversations too.
We will continue working with our SEND Partnerships locally, regionally and nationally to share our thoughts on the Government’s proposals in good time, once they have been published and we have had time to review them with care.
In the meantime please do remember your local parent carer forum where you live.
Clare
