A message from our CEO, Graham Quinn
You may have heard the news by now in the local press, but I wanted to share this with you all first hand…
I received a letter a month ago.
I’ve not been able to reveal the content until this weekend just gone.
I am delighted (and more than a little humbled) to say that I am to be awarded an OBE for services for children and young people with additional needs.
When I received the news, I was very shocked and surprised. It’s not every day you hear something like that…
There then followed a few moments where I thought about some of the other people involved in our organisation, who (in my opinion) are equally or even more deserving of such an honour.
Now that the dust has settled though, and I’ve had time to process the news with my family, as well as having shared the news with staff this morning, I wanted to share it with all of our other stakeholders too.
After all, without the support of our families, our governors, our directors, trustees and partners, I wouldn’t have been nominated for this honour in the first place.
My name is the one mentioned, and I am very proud of that for myself and my family, but I genuinely could not be accepting such an honour without each and every one of you. Your support during my time as CEO has been vital.
Truthfully, this OBE is for all of us, for New Bridge.
That’s all for now, but I will keep you all in the loop as we move towards the end of term, which as you all know, is my final half term as CEO of this wonderful organisation. I’m going to miss it, but what a way to bring it to an end.
Thank you, everyone, for the support you give us on a daily basis. The support which allows us to get on with the kind of work that makes people up and down the country look at New Bridge and say – “that’s how it’s done.”
