CEO’s Blog (10th March 2023)
It was International Women’s Day this week, and it was great to see our schools and settings marking the occasion with their activities and learning opportunities.
Of course, we shouldn’t only celebrate our women and girls for just one day a year, but it is an important reminder that there is still work to be done for women, both here and around the world, to be given access to the same opportunities and rights as their male counterparts.
We have come a long way, but there is still a way to go.
For the women and girls who are part of the New Bridge Group and Multi Academy Trust, we are proud of you, we are here for you and we believe in you.
Where better to start than with a collaboration between some of our schools…
8 students from Hollinwood Academy, New Bridge School and Springbrook Upper joined forces and participated in The One City Secondary Girls Football League at Manchester City.
It was all about working together, meeting new friends and creating memorable experiences.
There was also a team from Samuel Laycock in attendance.
Well done to all involved!
Elsewhere, it was great to see some of the boys at Spring Brook Lower sharing their thoughts on the important and special women in their lives.
You can see what Spring Brook Lower have been up to here:

This is just a snap shot, and I’m sure that our social media feeds will be alive with more updates today, but for now, on behalf of everyone in our organisation, can I say thank you to our women and girls for their invaluable contributions.
I’ll leave you with this message that was shared by our very own Shirley Woods Gallagher…
