CEO's Blog - 17th March 2023  'Thank You!'   Well, if you've been following the updates on social media this week, you might just have noticed that almost 100 of our young people have been lucky enough to travel to Disneyland Paris. A trip that started on Monday...

CEO’s Blog (10th March 2023)

CEO's Blog (10th March 2023)   It was International Women's Day this week, and it was great to see our schools and settings marking the occasion with their activities and learning opportunities. Of course, we shouldn't only celebrate our women and girls for just...

We are looking for our next CEO…

We are looking for our next CEO... It's probably been the worst kept secret for a while, but I'm writing my blog this week to let everyone know that we are actively looking for the next CEO of the New Bridge Multi Academy Group and MAT. After many years working as...

CEO’s Blog – Student Voice (24th February 2023)

CEO's Blog - Student Voice (24th February 2023)   A few weeks ago, before the half term break, I said I would be reporting on how we listen to the Student Voice across our MAT and wider Group. Well, this week, I'm able to do just that, as some of our schools and...

CEO’s Blog – 27th January 2023

As usual, January seems to be rolling on forever. Is it about the 45th of January by now?

What this means for us at New Bridge though, is that we’re able to pack even more learning and experiences into the time we have.

As promised, this week, I wanted to share some of what has been going across some other sites in the group, including at Future Finders, Horizons, Springboard Project and the Learning Centre.

At Future Finders, for a kick off, they were delighted to gain a new exciting placement opportunity with Nando’s in Oldham! Nando’s are extremely keen to boost inclusivity within the Oldham area, offering meaningful opportunities to gain a better understanding within the busy world of catering.

This sounds very promising indeed!

I’m also pleased to share some of the feedback they have already received for exisiting placements…

The Range – ‘’Jake is hardworking, came in and supported us when he did not need to do, He is eager to learn, and nothing has been too much trouble for him. The support he receives is perfect’.’

Brewers Fayre – ‘’Tyler is outstanding and will do anything he is asked to do. He picks things up extremely fast and keeps on top of his work.”

Curry’s – ‘’Pete is an excellent asset, everything that is asked he completes with no issues, He shows a genuine interest and completes the tasks to the best of his ability we are extremely impressed. The job coaches are supportive too!’’

Well done to all.

At Horizons, it’s been great to see the young people accessing the community so much, whether that’s out on a walk or taking the tram to their favourite cafe.

It’s about community access, communication and camerarderie.

It’s great to see.

At The Springboard Project, we’ve seen students doing a variety of jobs on their Animal Care experience, from mucking out to giving a horse a hair cut!

At the Learning Centre, they’ve been up to all sorts. Take a look on their blog round up from last week, it’s packed full of different experiences…

What a round up!

The coming months promise to be as exciting as any we’ve ever had at New Bridge, with trips planned left, right and Disney…

I’m sure, by now, the young people are really excited about the Disney trips, and I would just ask for patience and understanding as we get the next stages of planning ready.

Behind the scenes, our schools and leadership teams are working tirelessly to make sure we:

  1. don’t miss anyone out.
  2. have all the information that you, as parents and carers, would expect us to have for trips of this scale.

I am pleased to say that we are working on brochures, which will be developed and issued in due course.

These brochures will hopeully be a ‘one stop shop’ for all things to do with Disney.

Keep your eyes peeled for further updates, and rest assured that we are really putting the work in on this.

Also on the horizon is the next trip to Chicago, but plenty more on that in the coming weeks and months.

For now, have a restful weekend and I look forward to updating you next week.

Take care

Graham
