CEO’s Blog – 13th January 2023
I’m writing my blog this week, with some wonderful news.
As you will be aware, the schools in our Trust provide amazing curriculum opportunities, but we also pride ourselves on ensuring our children and young people have access to wonderful extra-curricular activities.
As part of that offer, we have, for the last 10 years, had an annual ‘Year 8 Disneyland Paris residential’. It is often one of the highlights of a child’s time with us.
The experience involves being away with friends, experiencing a lovely hotel, and, to top it off, spending time at Disneyland.
For the last two years, our children and young people have not been able to participate because of the Covid restrictions.
I’m delighted to be able to inform you that this year we are running the residentials again. They will take place in March and June.
Our Trustees have again significantly subsidised these residentials.
It’s been agreed that all the young people in Years 9 and 10 (who missed out because of Covid) will also have the opportunity to participate.
Please note that this only applies for children at New Bridge School, Hollinwood Academy, Spring Brook Upper and Springboard Project, and not Samuel Laycock School, who only joined the MAT in 2022. At Samuel Laycock, only pupils in Year 8 will be eligible for the trip.
Therefore, if your child is in Year 8, 9 or 10, their school will be sending out details of the trip, in the next few days, to finalise numbers. This will allow us to sort out the logistics and rooms etc.
This is an opportunity open to every single child and young person in Years 8, 9 and 10.
We’d love as many children and young people as possible to participate.
Here’s a short film of previous visits.
Have a brilliant weekend, everyone
