CEO’s Blog – 2nd December 2022
December is upon us and it’s amazing how quickly this year is passing. It always feels like that, I suppose, but it never fails to surprise us.
Looking around our schools and sites this week, everyone is really getting into the Christmas spirit, decorating their classrooms and getting a little bit crafty, making things and baking things.
What has struck me more than anything though, is the good that we’re all still committed to doing.
It’s the season of giving after all, and New Bridge does this as well as any organisation, anywhere in the world.
Just look at this at the college for a start, the Girls’ Group preparing Christmas Boxes for people less fortunate than themselves…
…and making these badges for the Save the Children Christmas jumper campaign.
Still in the spirit of ‘giving’, New Bridge School were on the receiving end this time, benefitting from the fund-raising efforts of Ryder and Dutton. The team, led by Emma walked from branch to branch and raised a huge £1183.00 for the school’s sensory garden, which will be opening, along with the new playground in the new year.
Fundraising is something we can benefit from, but it’s also something we can help others with too, just like the Learning Centre have done at their Christmas Fair…
…and Samuel Laycock did with their Poppy Appeal…
…and Spring Brook Upper did with their final total for Children in Need, which was £61, thanks to a few late donations.
I’m sure to have missed some more examples out, but the above just goes to show how much New Bridge’s staff, young people, students and stakeholders really love giving.
As I said, we’ve just entered into the season of giving, and I look forward to seeing more examples of this New Bridge kindness in the month ahead.
The countdown to Christmas is on, but we’re not stopping yet!
Have a great weekend, and let’s hope that England can go a step further in the World Cup by beating Senegal on Sunday.
