CEO's Blog - 24th March 2023 Our Organisation... The weeks are flying by and we're nearly at the end of the Spring term, so here's a snapshot of life at every one of our schools and settings. We're growing all the time, but our offer remains the best in special...

CEO’s Blog – 17th March 2023 – ‘Thank You!’

CEO's Blog - 17th March 2023  'Thank You!'   Well, if you've been following the updates on social media this week, you might just have noticed that almost 100 of our young people have been lucky enough to travel to Disneyland Paris. A trip that started on Monday...

CEO’s Blog (10th March 2023)

CEO's Blog (10th March 2023)   It was International Women's Day this week, and it was great to see our schools and settings marking the occasion with their activities and learning opportunities. Of course, we shouldn't only celebrate our women and girls for just...

We are looking for our next CEO…

We are looking for our next CEO... It's probably been the worst kept secret for a while, but I'm writing my blog this week to let everyone know that we are actively looking for the next CEO of the New Bridge Multi Academy Group and MAT. After many years working as...

CEO’s Blog – Student Voice (24th February 2023)

CEO's Blog - Student Voice (24th February 2023)   A few weeks ago, before the half term break, I said I would be reporting on how we listen to the Student Voice across our MAT and wider Group. Well, this week, I'm able to do just that, as some of our schools and...

CEO’s Blog – 30th September 2022

Well, it seems like autumn has definitely arrived, but the rain can’t dampen spirits across the New Bridge community.

Just this morning in fact, Spring Brook Lower held a Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care, raising £150 in the process.

Well done to all who were involved at the school and thank you to our families for supporting.

There was a Coffee Morning held at Hawthorns too!

It’s great to see our schools pull together for such good causes, and it’s something that happens all the time across the MAT and the wider New Bridge Group.

Speaking of the Group, it’s been really pleasing to see everyone at Horizons getting out and about this last couple of weeks. There always seems to be something going on, whether it’s a trip to the shops to buy ingredients for cooking or a few laps on the bikes at Ability Wheelz.

It wasn’t all that long ago that the pandemic put a stop to things like this, and I really believe that we all seem to enjoy things just that little bit more since having them taken away from us.

It was definitely a lesson in not taking things for granted, and we’re so fortunate to have local facilities like Ability Wheelz working with us.

This post has a real community feel to it, and that’s one of the best things about New Bridge in my opinion.

It’s the community we develop and nurture, through bringing parents and families into our schools, as with Spring Brook Lower’s Coffee Morning, but it’s also the wider community that we access and interact with.

By involving our young people in the wider community, we’re broadening their horizons (pardon the pun), developing skills and opening up doors to new experiences, whether they’re to do with health and fitness, cooking and lifestyle, or even just nipping to the café for a brew and a catch up.

Next week, I’ll be nipping down to London, working with different Government departments to try and move our schools and the sector forward.

Whatever you’re doing this weekend, please look after yourselves and let’s all come back ready to go again on Monday, even if it’s raining.
