CEO’s Blog – 4th November 2022 Have fun, but be careful! Autumn 2 is well underway and with Bonfire Night happening this weekend, the message this week has to be ‘have fun, but be careful…’ Fireworks aren’t for everyone, but for those of you who will...
Day 10 in Chicago
Well today in Chicago we have turned into our very own business hub, with students working in their teams to prepare for our big presentation at Apple HQ on Friday. Students have to prepare a ‘pitch’ for their app idea, demonstrating a prototype and competing to present their app in the flagship Apple Store on Michigan Avenue on Friday afternoon! They will be judged by Apple professionals from across the USA and there are prizes to be won!
…today our students began with another virtual session with Apple to go through how to animate their prototypes for their pitch – this is from text flying in and out of their apps, to buttons pulsing or changing colour. The students were then tasked to work on this in teams. We then had a brilliant video editing workshop with Kevin, a teacher from Ridgewood.
All of our groups are creating their own documentaries about our project and our time in Chicago – we can’t wait to share them with you at the end of the week!
After school we headed back to the hotel for another fun night of gym, swim, an Italian themed meal and a movie night.
Some students even did a bit of laundry!
We’d like to say that all of our students enjoyed this evening’s leisure activities, but we would be lying – as many chose to continue to work all evening on their apps and documentaries!
Our students and the students from Ridgewood are really doing us proud!
They are so determined, so engaged and are creating incredible work!
They continue to be amazing company and we are all really making the most of the time that we have here!
Until tomorrow, here’s the pics…
