School Trips

CEO's Blog - 9th December 2022 School Trips School trips used to be the highlight of the year for many children across the UK, partly because of how infrequently they happened. It was the novelty rather than the quality which made them special. That's not how we do...

CEO’s Blog – 2nd December 2022

CEO's Blog - 2nd December 2022 December is upon us and it's amazing how quickly this year is passing. It always feels like that, I suppose, but it never fails to surprise us. Looking around our schools and sites this week, everyone is really getting into the Christmas...

CEO’s Blog – 25th November 2022

CEO’s Blog – 25th November 2022 In exactly one month’s time, it will be Christmas Day, the second Christmas since COVID-19 restrictions ended.   It is amazing to think how quickly that time has passed, and how well our children, young people and staff teams have...

CEO’s Blog – 11th November

CEO's Blog - 11th November   After a couple of weeks when celebration has been on everyone's minds, where we have seen religious celebrations like Diwali take place, as well as other traditional events such as Bonfire Night and Halloween, it has...

It’s been a brilliant day. The weather (until about 6.30pm) has been sunny. It’s strange that the forecast was for rain all day – clearly they’d not factored in the New Bridge Group feel good factor – our positive children and staff gave out such good vibes the sun had no choice but to come out!!

Anyway, the children have had an absolute ball – they’ve not stopped all day – rides, characters, shows, parades….the list goes on and on. I’d like to thank Wendy Warren who ensures every aspect of Disney is planned and organised. The logistics of taking so many children from so many schools shouldn’t be underestimated. The fast pass cards this year have worked a treat although I must to admit to feeling my age after the 5th time on the Tower of Terror!!

I’d also like to thank Kelly who makes sure all the medications are sorted.

The finance and business teams should also be given real credit for making sure the visit is subsidised so that it’s affordable for all the children in all of our schools.

Disney is a real team effort and so rewarding for the staff when we are able to share the children’s fun and enjoyment. I know I speak on behalf of all the staff when I say it’s such a privilege to be a part of making memories for the youngsters. I know they will remember these days as some of the best in their school lives.

Anyhow, we are all back at the hotel now – it’s 9.50pm – the rain eventually came at around 7pm!! I guess we had run out of positive energy – 30,000 steps on the fitbits!! Back out tomorrow for the park opening – can’t wait!!
