We are looking for our next CEO…

CEO’s Blog – Student Voice (24th February 2023)

CEO's Blog - Student Voice (24th February 2023)   A few weeks ago, before the half term break, I said I would be reporting on how we listen to the Student Voice across our MAT and wider Group. Well, this week, I'm able to do just that, as some of our schools and...

Graham
Well, I’m off! You may recall that I was asked a few months ago to travel over to the USA to work alongside some schools and the Apple corporation.

Yesterday I travelled down to London to catch a plane to Austin, Texas. My journey to London didn’t go too well as a fire on the track at Watford delayed me for over 2 hours. Luckily, I managed to get the tube over to Victoria and take the Brighton train to Gatwick.

So here I am, sitting on an 11 hour flight writing the first of my daily blogs. I’m hoping to update you on everything that I’m learning.

We’ve got an amazing schedule ahead of us – I’ve copied the timetable below:

Day 1

  • Welcome and introductions, Aloft Hotel
  • Engaging with Intention, Retail Store – Domain, Austin
  • Innovation in Schools, Eanes School District
  • Debrief and reflections, Eanes School District
  • Transfer to Cupertino

Day 2

  • Apple in Education
  • Why Mobility Matters
  • The Importance of Culture
  • Managing Change
  • Implicit Promise (Apple University)

Day 3

  • Apple in Enterprise
  • Productivity with Apple
  • Evidence and Impact
  • Elements of Learning/Elements of Leadership
  • Guest/Visitor Centre

Day 4

  • Welcome back
  • Learning into Practice
  • Next steps
  • Depart

I’m going to try and stay awake when I reach Texas to ensure I’m not too jet-lagged tomorrow morning. Luckily prior to Day 1 I’ve got an opportunity to acclimatise.

Please keep a look out too for some amazing news from New Bridge School.

I hope you’ve all had a great Easter and I’m looking forward to telling you all about my Apple adventure.

Take care,

Graham
